After careful consideration, the last day of service for the Mount Logan Branch will be Friday, July 25. We’re grateful to Chillicothe City Schools for a wonderful partnership with this location over the past seven years, and look forward to finding new ways to continue working together.
As our Outreach Department continues to grow, we remain committed to serving the surrounding community and ensuring access to books, internet, and a wide range of library services.
Can people still access the library on the east side?
Yes! While the Mount Logan Branch is closing, we have two other locations within city limits—the Main Library and Northside Branch. Although they aren’t within walking distance for everyone, transit options are available, and we’re actively looking into expanding our 24/7 book lockers to provide even more convenient access.
Additionally, our Outreach Department offers home delivery for those who qualify, and our Mobile Library regularly visits different areas across Ross County, including the east side. Keep an eye on our schedule for upcoming public stops near you!
Is this because of changes to the state budget?
No. This decision was made prior to the recent state budget announcement. We are always reviewing how to use our resources wisely and responsibly. In this case, continuing to operate the Mount Logan Branch was no longer the most efficient use of taxpayer dollars.
After the branch closes, for those who have Mount Logan chosen as the location to pick up their holds, those cardholders will be switched to the Main Library. You may also designate a new CRCPL branch as your home location by calling us at 740-702-4145. Thank you for your continued support as we grow and evolve together.
