Sheena Brown is the Enrichment Clerk who works primarily at the Main Library and Northside Branch, and has worked at the library for almost seven years!
- What are your main duties in your position at the library?
I help patrons with everything from printing mailing labels to finding their next favorite book. I process items that we send and receive, which means I get to see a lot of cool material. I also research our Genealogy requests and contribute columns to The Chillicothe Gazette on the library’s behalf. - What do you like to do in your free time outside of the library?
I like to listen to audiobooks, play video games (or board games or trivia), watch movies, explore new places, spend time with family and friends, write, and take naps with my cats. - What’s one thing people might not know about you?
I have been a Zombie in a movie. - What’s a current TV show or movie you are enjoying?
Old seasons of Ghost Adventures. - What is something that you can’t live without?
A notebook and decent pen. - If you could travel anywhere in the world, where you would you go and why?
I really want to go on a European trip and explore old castles and ruins. - What’s a book you like to recommend to everyone?
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig or Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune. I get chills just thinking about both of them. - What’s one of your favorite library resources/services?
One!?! This is tough! I obviously LOVE our digital services, hoopla and Libby specifically, because I use them constantly. But I also think our Beyond Books items are pretty amazing. - What’s your favorite part about working at CRCPL?
The people and the experiences! It’s pretty amazing to work in a creative environment that allows for so many new and exciting opportunities. I’ve been Pete the Cat, acted in some hilarious video promoting our services, written columns about mental health, and connected people with necessary services. I love that the work we do here helps people. The library has taught me so much, professionally and personally, and I am so thankful to be a part of it. I also think it’s pretty cool that now I get paid to do what used to get me in trouble in school…talk to people. 🙂
