Alison Metzger is the Graphic Design Coordinator. She has been working for the library since 2014 and been in her current job position for the past seven years.
- What are your main duties in your position at the library?
As the graphic design coordinator, I create images for the libraries print and digital advertising, signage, and miscellaneous graphics. I also help with decorating and program prep when I get the chance! - What do you like to do in your free time outside of the library?
I enjoy playing video games, watching movies, and listening to podcasts. Really, anything that tells a good story catches my attention. I also like to make art when I can find the time, from illustrations to making miniature scenes. - What’s one thing people might not know about you?
I’ve watched and listened to hundreds of hours of Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. - What’s a current TV show or movie you are enjoying?
I’ve been going through A24’s movie catalog (a lot of them are on Kanopy!) and catching up on the recent horror movies I’ve missed. I’ve also been watching a lot of online shows like GameChanger and Dimension 20. - What is something that you can’t live without?
Good food! I enjoy cooking new dishes and going to new restaurants when I get the chance. - If you could travel anywhere in the world, where you would you go and why?
My top choice would be Japan, for both the food and culture. I fell in love with both when I was a kid and would love to see it for myself. - What’s one of your favorite library resources/services?
Our Art Spaces! We provide free gallery spaces in Main, the Main Annex, and Northside, and are looking to host more themed shows in the future. - What’s your favorite part about working at CRCPL?
Getting to be in a creative job is fantastic, and I’m glad the library has lots of opportunities to support and share other local artists.
