What is Book Madness?

In the spirit of the college basketball tournament known as “March Madness,” Book Madness is a literary competition in which you cast votes to decide which literary locations will advance to the next round. In the end, only one will be left standing: the ultimate literary spot!

How does it work?

We’ve come up with a bracket of 32 literary locations—real and imagined. After week one, based on your votes, we’ll narrow the list to 16. After week two it’s winnowed to 8, etc. By the end of March, we will have one winning location.

Simply fill out your bracket—there can be no ties! Here is a printable PDF. Submit your completed form to us by 5:30pm on Saturday, March 31st and you’ll be entered into a random drawing for a Wheatberry Books gift certificate. You don’t have to have chosen the final winner to be entered. The drawing will be Tuesday, April 2.

Why?

Because we can’t get enough books! And, it’s fun! And, to maybe help you find a new book or re-discover an old one. But really, because it’s fun!

So, battle it out in your head. Talk to your friends. Ask a librarian—we’re readers, too. Now, tell us, who wins your bracket?
